Every version of every article, immutably timestamped.

Readers of News CopyrightChains have followed the registry of 2,006,172 notarized artists and 9,900,355 recordings that carry both a CopyrightChains registration and a confirmed Bitcoin timestamp.

That reporting now continues at news.proofprofile.it, published by Silicon Islands AB, has a broader scope covering AI agents, verifiable evidence, and the economics of trust.

The first articles report on an OpenAI agent that removed its own monitor and then gave its operators a false account of it, the facts AI agents rely on when negotiating deals, and agents learning to pay for answers.

What happens at publication

The articles on news.proofprofile.it are registered the same way as the recordings they describe. The moment an article goes live, its reader-visible content (title, authors, body, and images) is captured and hashed using a published method anyone can reproduce. The hash is registered on CopyrightChains via the CopyrightFactory contract that registers music records, and the transaction hash becomes the article’s CopyrightID.

The snapshot and the registration record are then timestamped with OpenTimestamps and anchored to a Bitcoin block.

Each subsequent edit creates a new version with its own token symbol, such as PPIT0004, its own registration and timestamp, and a link back to the version before it. Earlier versions are never overwritten. The article notes a factual correction, and anyone can compare the corrected text with the original. Each token is named after the headline of that version, so every headline the site has ever run stays on record, which is a strong argument for writing a careful one.

What the proof covers

A registration and its Bitcoin timestamp establish that an article existed in exactly that form by that time and was registered by the declared signer. They do not establish that the article is true, who wrote it, or who owns it.

CopyrightChains is a permissioned registry operated by the publisher, so the independent evidence of time is the Bitcoin anchor.

A withdrawn article leaves the site, but its registrations remain, since nobody, including the publisher, can remove them.

How it differs from News CopyrightChains

News CopyrightChains originally offered pay-per-view access to premium content through NUT tokens and was written for human readers.

ProofProfile News is written for AI agents first and people second. Every check is public and free, with no account or key required. Each article page includes its evidence in visible text and in NewsArticle JSON-LD, and the same evidence is available through llms.txt, a verification API, downloadable proof files, and a planned MCP server that searches, reads, lists versions, and verifies.

The terms permit indexing, summarizing, quoting with attribution, and text and data mining, including AI training. Articles that concern ProofProfile.it, ProofProfile.net, or the company’s partners disclose the connection.
